Summer Internship

A Computer Engineering student is required to complete a total of at least 40 working days of compulsory internship, with at least 20 working days during the semester break or summer following the second and third years. Students must register for the internship course in the academic semester following the semester break or summer in which they completed their internship. After the first internship, they register for the CMPE 399 course, and after the second internship, they register for the CMPE 499 course. Internship placements are found by the students' own efforts.

Criteria for Internship Institutions

  • Universities cannot be internship sites
  • The internship must be done at an IT company or in the IT department of a company
  • The institution must have at least one full time Computer Engineer
  • A student cannot do an internship at a company they have established themselves

General Rules 

  • The two internships cannot be combined and completed at the same institution in 40 days; they must be done separately.
  • Summer internships cannot be done online.
  • Two different compulsory internships cannot be done in the same summer (unless the student is in a graduation situation).
  • The two compulsory internships cannot be done at the same company.
  • Internships cannot be done during the academic term.
  • To register for the CMPE 399 or CMPE 499 course, the student must have completed the internship; it is not possible to register for the course and then start the internship.
  • Evaluation forms submitted at the end of the internship must be delivered in a sealed envelope; unsealed forms will not be accepted.

Internship Process

  • The student has the Internship Document filled out by the institution where they will do the internship and sends it to the internship coordinator through the portal.
  • The student can start the internship after receiving approval from the internship coordinator.
  • At the end of the internship, the student must provide the Internship Evaluation Form to the institution so that it evaluates the student.
  • The student must deliver the Internship Evaluation Form to the internship coordinator in a sealed envelope at the beginning of the term and register for the internship course.
