Summer Internship

A Computer Engineering student is required to complete a total of at least 40 working days of compulsory internship, with a minimum of 20 working days during the semester break or summer following the second and third years. Students must register for the internship course in the academic semester following the break or summer during which they completed their internship. After the first internship, they must register for the CMPE 399 course, and after the second internship, for the CMPE 499 course. Internship placements are to be found through the student’s own efforts.

Criteria for Internship Institutions

Universities are not eligible as internship sites.

The internship must be done at an IT company or in the IT department of a company.

The institution must employ at least one full-time Computer Engineer.

A student cannot complete an internship at a company they have personally established.

General Rules 

The two internships cannot be combined and completed at the same institution over 40 days; they must be done separately.

Summer internships cannot be conducted online.

Two different compulsory internships cannot be completed during the same summer (unless the student is in a graduation situation).

The two compulsory internships cannot be done at the same company.

Internships cannot be carried out during the academic semester.

To register for CMPE 399 or CMPE 499, the student must have already completed the internship; it is not permitted to enroll in the course and then start the internship.

Evaluation forms submitted at the end of the internship must be delivered in a sealed envelope; unsealed forms will not be accepted.

Internship Process

The student must have the Internship Document filled out by the hosting institution and submit it to the internship coordinator via the portal.

The student can start the internship only after receiving approval from the internship coordinator.

At the end of the internship, the student must provide the Internship Evaluation Form to the institution for completion.

The completed evaluation form must be submitted by the student to the internship coordinator in a sealed envelope at the beginning of the semester, along with registration for the internship course.
