Our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökçe Nur Yılmaz's project titled "A 3D Video Adaptation Model Providing High Depth Perception Satisfaction and Efficient Transmission Channel Usage Based on Environmental Illumination, Spatial Resolution, and Depth Cues" has been awarded support under the TUBITAK ARDEB 1001 program.
The aim of this project is to develop an innovative 3D video adaptation model that maintains 3D video viewing satisfaction, particularly depth perception, at an optimum level, and effectively utilizes the transmission channel, even under constraints such as limited bandwidth, viewer device screen size, and environmental lighting conditions, based on depth cues measured using spatial resolution-related and deep learning approaches.
This project can support the leading role of 3D video technology and applications in various sectors ranging from healthcare to education, defense industry to gaming, entertainment, and increase the national/international project market share.
With this project, the TEDU Department of Computer Engineering and the METU Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering will collaborate in an interdisciplinary and interinstitutional structure.
